Historians of contemporary history are constantly puzzling over the alleged “special way” of the Germans, though the answers vary.



"Dentro e fuori le aule: La Compagnia di Gesù a Gorizia e nell'Austria interna (secoli XVI-XVII)" by Claudio Ferlan, Il Mulino, 2012, has just been edited.


Since 1975, our multilingual review Annals has been publishing the results of the scientific activity conducted by the Italian-Germanic History Institute as well as prominent scholarship from Italy and Germany.


The essays collected in this volume explore the relationship between institutions and commerce in the eastern Alpine and pre-Alpine area – from the historical Tyrol to Carniola, from the Venetian Republic to Styria – throughout the modern era.


FBK-Isig researchers have been entrusted introduction to historical research laboratories and a historiographical topic course. The Foundation will also be in charge of organizing a lectio magistralis, in addition to more traditional educational activities, including workshops and events of international interest. It will happen in the new inter-university degree in "Historical Sciences", jointly activated by the Universities of Trento and Verona and whose lessons have started in recent weeks in both locations.

La Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH, Paris) offre alcune borse di ricerca post-doc in scienze umane e sociali per un periodo di nove mesi nell’ambito del Programma “Fernand Braudel-IFER” (International Fellowships for Experienced Researchers).

The Sources of the Isig just published "La documentazione dei vescovi di Trento (XI secolo - 1218)".



The project entails a historical study of the documents comprising the “Atti Trentini” collection currently housed in the Trento state archives.


We are glad to inform you that the "Fondazione Bruno Kessler" inside which our Italian German Historical Institute works, has launched a program, cofounded by the European Union for some positions of research here in Trento.
