Sono ricercatrice del progetto FIS Advanced Grant BlackItaly presso l’Istituto Storico Italo-Germanico della Fondazione Bruno Kessler. Mi occupo di storia globale e sociale con attenzione alla circolazione dei beni coloniali, alle forme di intermediazione economica tra spazio atlantico ed europeo, alla schiavitù e alle categorie razziali. Ho un dottorato in History and Civilization (EUI, 2011) e uno in Sociologia (Università di Torino, 2019). Nel progetto BlackItaly analizzo la partecipazione di mercanti, banchieri e istituzioni italiane all’economia schiavista del Settecento, ricostruendo reti finanziarie, commerciali e religiose e il reinvestimento dei profitti nella penisola. Parallelamente, ho lavorato su disuguaglianze, empowerment e metodologie qualitative/partecipative in Europa, America Latina e paesi MENA, come senior researcher ad ARCO (Action Research for Co-Development). Insegno inoltre Food Cultures of Latin America presso l’Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo.
